Dishwasher Repair- Replacing the Upper Spray Arm Seal (Whirlpool Part # 8268340)

Hi it’s Steve from PartSelect. Today we
are going to show you how to change the upper spray arm seal on your dishwasher and it’s
a really easy job. All you are going to need is a Philips screwdriver; let me show you
how we do it. Now to do this repair we are going to start by opening the dishwasher door,
and we are just going to pull through rails for the top rack out fair enough that we can
disengage the rack stops, there is a little locking tab there that if you depress the
locking tab with one finger you can push up on the rack stop and slide it right out of
the rail, we’ll set those aside and then we can pull that whole upper rack right out,
push the rails in out of the way, and then we can just flip that rack upside down, we’ll
next remove the Philips screws that secures the supply tube to the bottom of the spray
arm, and you can just lift up on that supply tube, push that out of the way, remove the
old bearing set that aside, slide the new bearing into the spray arm make sure that
there is no debris that is caught up on that spray arm, or if any of the holes are plugged,
it’s the opportunity to take that spray arm off, clean those holes out, rinse the
whole thing and put it back in position. Simply slide the new bearing into the opening
on the spray arm, and fit the supply tube over the top of it, replace the Philips screw
and just make sure that the spray arm turns freely, and we can slide that rack back into
position, just pull the rails out and line up one of the rear wheels, and just get it
started in and do the opposite side, till you have all four wheels in position and push
the rack back far enough that the rails are extended past the rack, take the rack stop,
slide the rack stops into position, make sure that the locking tabs engage at the top
and our repair is complete. I told you it
was an easy job, thanks for watching and good luck with your repair.
