How to replace rear wheel bearing / rear hub bearing on FIAT PUNTO 2 (188) [TUTORIAL AUTODOC]


Required tools:
Wire brush
WD-40 spray
All-purpose cleaning spray Copper grease
Drive socket # 12
Drive socket # 32
Wheel impact socket #19 Ratchet wrench
Torque wrench
Hammer
Tap wrench Rubber mallet
Crow bar
Wheel chock 1. Raise the rear of the car and secure on supports. 2. Unscrew the wheel bolts.
Use wheel impact socket #19. AUTODOC recommends:
To avoid injury, hold up the wheel when unscrewing the bolts. 3. Clean the brake drum.
Use a wire brush.
Use WD-40 spray. 4. Unscrew the brake drum fastening
Use a drive socket #12.
Use a ratchet wrench. 5. Remove the brake drum. AUTODOC recommends:
Examine the brake drum. Replace it if necessary. 6. Remove the hub bearing protection cap.
Use a crowbar.
Use a hammer. AUTODOC recommends:
Some cars are not equipped with wheel hub caps. 7. Unscrew the wheel hub axle nut.
Use a drive socket #32.
Use a tap wrench. 8. Remove the hub and the bearing together, since they are a sealed unit. 9. Clean the hub bearing mounting seat.
Use all-purpose cleaning spray. 10. Install the new wheel hub with a bearing. 11. Tighten the hub.
Use a drive socket #32. Use a torque wrench.
Tighten it to 125 nm torque. AUTODOC recommends:
The wheel bearing unit must not tilt on the axle pin. 12. Install the hub bearing protection cap.
Use a rubber mallet. 13. Treat the hub where it contacts the brake disk.
Use copper grease. 14. Install the brake drum and fasten it. 15. Tigten the brake drum fasteners.
Use a drive socket #12. Use a torque wrench.
Tighten it to 15 Nm torque. 16. Clean the wheel rim mounting seat.
Use a wire brush. 17. Treat the surface where the brake disc contacts the wheel rim.
Use copper grease. 18. Screw in the wheel bolts.
Use wheel impact socket #19. AUTODOC recommends:
To avoid injury, hold up the wheel when screwing in the fastening bolts. 19. Lower the car and working in a cross order, tighten the wheel bolts. Use a torque wrench.
Tighten it to 120 nm torque.
