MINI 4WD Tamiya Tutorial How To Modify Plates Rollers Wheels Tires Motors Gears / Electric Cars


welcome to another mini 4wd lesson… we talked a little bit about ADAPTABILITY in a previous video… in this video, we will talk more about ADAPTABILITY… Q: What is ADAPTABILITY? a: It means how easy is it to add parts to your car… there are 6 important factors to determine which chassis is more ADAPTABLE… PLATES, ROLLERS, WHEELS… TIRES, MOTORS… & GEARS… a PLATE is sort of like a BUMPER… a PLATE on the front of a car is called a PLATE… a PLATE on the back of a car is called a STAY… the word, STAY, is another way to say, BRACE or STABILIZER… not all PLATES & STAYS will fit all chassis’… you have to make the screw holes line up or match the screw holes on the chassis… also, some car body shapes will get in the way of using some PLATES & STAYS… if you have a drill… you can probably make anything work out… ROLLERS are button-sized cylinders that spin on PLATES & STAYS… in fact… the first ROLLER was made from a button… ROLLERS keep mini 4wd cars from rubbing against the track walls… cars rubbing on the track walls make them go slower… because of FRICTION… if your ROLLERS are too big, they could rub on the tires or body of your car. that FRICTION would, also, make your car slow… if your ROLLERS are too small, your tires might still rub on the track wall… and cause your car to be slow… WHEELS are cylinders that hold tires that connect your whole car to the track surface… WHEELS have LENGTH, WIDTH & HEIGHT… WHEELS have LENGTH, WIDTH & HEIGHT… since WHEELS are usually on the rolling side… LENGTH is usually called DIAMETER.. WIDTH is usually called DIAMETER, too… and HEIGHT is usually called WIDTH… not all WHEELS fit all chassis’… there are SMALL DIAMETER wheels & there are LARGE DIAMETER wheels… some wheels have AXLE SPACERS & other wheels do not… a LARGE DIAMETER wheel or a wheel without the right SPACER might make your tires rub on the body or rollers of your car like we said before… TIRES connect your whole car to the track surface… and not all TIRES fit all WHEELS… & not all TIRES fit all CHASSIS’… some TIRES have a SMALL DIAMETER… some TIRES have a BIG DIAMETER… LARGE DIAMETER tires might not fit your car… a MOTOR give energy from the BATTERIES to your car’s TIRES… some MOTORS are in the back… some MOTORS are in the front… some MOTORS are in the middle… some MOTORS are removed from the top… some MOTORS are removed from the bottom… removing a MOTOR from the bottom is EASIER… because… you do not have to remove the car body… and because the motor cover… usually only has one clip or one snap… GEARS go between the MOTOR & the AXLE… the AXLE is between the GEARS & the WHEELS… not all GEARS fit all CHASSIS’… we will talk, in more detail, about GEARS in another video… THANK YOU for watching our video & please SUBSCRIBE by clicking the SUBCRIBE button, below…
