Mounting spherical roller bearing with a tapered bore on withdrawal sleeve using method of measuring axial displacement Coat the sliding surfaces with a thin layer of light oil or mounting paste Place the bearing on the shaft Place the withdrawal sleeve and again coat the sliding surfaces with a thin layer of light oil or mounting paste and press it below the bearing as far as possible Depending on the design of the shaft place the spacer ring Screw the locking nut on the thread of the shaft and tighten it manualy To the static part of the shaft attach appropriate gauge for measuring axial displacement Eventually set the gauge to zero By tightening the nut using hook spaner we will move the sleeve below the bearing until reaching required displacement which we find in tables It reduces bearing clearance of the given value – now check it and compare it with the table given value If everything is correct dismount the gauge Release the locking nut Place the locking washer and again place the locking nut Using hook spaner tighten the locking nut Secure the locking nut by pushing lip of locking washer into the groove of locking nut
